Faculty Legacy Fund Awards
The CSU Dominguez Hills Emeritus Faculty Association (EFA) continues the Faculty Legacy Fund Awards, an on-campus professional development grant program. The awards have been created to provide financial assistance to current tenure-track and tenured faculty members to encourage and support their professional development in the areas of teaching, research and creative activity. Awards are open to all tenure-track and tenured faculty, however, preference will be given to non-tenured, tenure-track faculty.
The EFA expects to have approximately $5,000 to allocate this year. Requests may be submitted for the entire amount or part of it. The EFA Executive Committee may grant one large award or several smaller ones.
The deadline for submitting proposals is Thursday, March 14, 2013. The grant application is attached. The grants are for the 2013-2014 academic year. Announcement of the recipients of the awards will be made near the end of April. The awardees will be honored at the EFA Spring Luncheon in May.
I strongly encourage you to apply. If you have any questions about the Faculty Legacy Fund Awards, feel free to contact Dr. Diane Henschel, EFA President at email@example.com.
Faculty research, scholarly and creative activity (RSCA) – Internal awards program
President Hagan has graciously allocated $600,000 in support of faculty research, scholarly and creative activity (RSCA). This program will be administered by Office of Research and Funded Projects and the University Committee on Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity. For the 2012-13 application year, two types of awards are authorized awarding a total of $300,000 to be expended in the 2013-14 academic year.
The Incentive RSCA Grant (IRG) will provide up to $15,000 in seed money necessary to assist faculty in submitting competitive external funding requests at the local, regional and/or national level. Funds may be used for faculty/student research assistant support, operating expenses and up to 3 WTUs of assigned time. A total of $200,000 will support approximately 13 IRG awards for the spring 2013 application cycle.
The Faculty RSCA Grant (FRG) will provide up to $10,000 in support of RSCA for full-time non-tenured, tenure-track faculty. FRG funds may be used for a variety of professional activities resulting in publications, peer-reviewed conference presentations, performance exhibits, pilot projects, data collection, and/or professional development. Ideally, funded RSCA projects will contribute to enhanced teaching, student engagement/success, competitive externally funded projects and successful retention, tenure and promotion. A total of $100,000 will provide support approximately 10 FRGs for the spring 2013 application cycle.
